D-day - Departure Day

I am all packed and ready to go. Actually have an hour or so to relax before heading out to the bus station.

Travel cloths laid out, a grocery bag has snacks and layering clothes for later, and my blue backpack (qualifies as a personal item). When I fly on Monday, The only thing I will be taking are the cloths I will be wearing (layered) and the backpack. Should be plenty, I will only be on the road for 4 months..LOL

Today, I will catch a bus to Mexico City where I will stay and tour around for a couple days before flying to Guatemala, my first stop outside of Mexico.

Here I am getting ready to board the bus in Oaxaca. The ride to Mexico City will be about 6 1/2 hours. Beautiful mount ain and country side along the way.

But is still a bus ride, along with flying, not on my favorite things to do list.

Once in Mexico City, it was just a short taxi ride to my accomodations. Only about 3 blocks from the main square (Zocolo). A large stage is set up, a band is playing an lots of people enjoying the music.

The place I am staying at is only about 3 blocks from the Zocolo. Typical old classic buildings. Old style architecture.
I will head out shortly for a bit of walk around, and get something to eat.
