Antigua day 3

After yesterdays full day, today will be more laid back. I will meet up with Jean, the guy from Brasil sometime. Other than than time to catch up on my journaling. I will do some exploring in parts of Antigua that I have not yet visited.

My first destination for the day was to the ruins of the  Convento Santa Clara. Dating back to the year 1700.

Unfortunately it suffered severe damage from earthquakes in 1773 and 1874 rendering it uninhabitable and beyond repair.

It remains as a ruins today as an attraction and also used as a wedding venue.

Around mid day, I met up with fellow traveler Jean from Brazil. We hung around the zocola for awhile, but not for long, we were both hungry. Looking around the first and most convenient place to eat was a Wendy's, lol.

After lunch we again walked around more then hired a tuktuk to take us up to the Cerro de la Cruz. Our tuktuk driver was a crack up. He and Jean were talking and joking for the whole ride up the hillside. This is on a hillside overlooking Antigua, affording great views of the city.

Once on the top. We enjoyed the fantastic  iew overlookin Antgua. Jean used the opportunity to play and take some videos with his drone. (I want one!) We both played and experimented with my new Obsbot Tail Air camera.

Here we came across a vendor with setup he wore on his back to sell and dispense wine coolers. The getup was only part of the fun, he also hammed it up dispensing.

The vendor was not the only one hamming it up.

Although Jean is from Brasil and his first language is Portuguese, his Spanish is also excellent. He engages in conversation with almost everyone. It makes spending time with him lively. A lot of fun.
