Buenos Aires day 7

Today will be my last full day Buenos Aires. Tomorrow morning I will catch a flight to Iguazu Falls for a couple days before bussing to Sao Paulo.
It will be warmer for the rest of my trip starting tomorrow and I am really looking forward to that. Later I can grumble because it is too hot.

A disjointed comment here. The header of the toilets and showers at the hostel I am at now is very low. Either forgetting about it or ducking, but not ducking low enough, I have hit my head at least a dozen times. I've never drawn blood, but it is annoying, just the same.

I am standing right in from of a shower stall, so you can see how low it is. I keep wondering, what are people thinking when they do stuff like this. Maybe they were very short.

I did get some laundry done yesterday, so I feel less grungey. I had to wait for a warmish day to to that because I also had to have my hoody washed. Even so, I ended up staying in the hostel all day. I am such a wimp when it comes to cool/cold weather.

Last night was not bad, I even had to take off my socks because my feet were too warm under the blankets. I have habitually cold feet.

The plan for today is to visit the Museo Moderno. The modern art museum. I will need to find one other activity to do to fill the day.

I took the subway to the Museum. My first time on the subway here in Buenos Aires. It felt safe, but it felt much older than the subway in Santiago. Older cars, older stations, but like Santiago, not plastered with graffiti. Pretty clean, but not as spotless as the subway in Santiago.

This is the first installation I saw there. Interesting clothing designs on mannequins.

The next display that caught my eye. This was a hard piece to photograph. I was not big, maybe 18 inches tall. If you click on the photo to see the larger view you can see the intricate thread work in the middle of the piece.

I just like the colors and the expressions on the faces in this piece.

This piece was an interesting combination of painting and sculture. I starts with a painting, then the sculture grows out of the painting.

I took many more pictures, but this is the last one I will post here. It is a wall of poster art, starting with posters from the 60' and 70's and moving forward to present day.

After the Museo Moderno, I  again took the subway looking for an eclectic neighborhood, famous for it's painted houses and murals. I got off the subway where I thought they should be, but I never saw any.

What was there was another major cemetary. I decided I didn't need to visit another one in Argentina. The other thing was the train station. I don't thing with was the main, historic station, it was a small regional station. Never the less, quite busy.

There was a hotdog stand at the train station. I was thinking if Argentina has amazing beef, maybe they also have amazing hotdogs. Nope, it was just another hotdog.  At another stand outside the station, a lady was roasting some type of flat bread. I didn't buy one the type she was making fresh, but did get one of the other bread things she had for sale. Another bust. Sometimes you have to try things that you don't like to better appreciate the things that are great.
