Lima, Peru 2 day 1

I took an very early morning flight from São Paulo, Brazil and arrived back in Lima at about 8:30 am after a 5 1/2 hour flight.

I need a new pose, this one is getting old.
I had to wait until 10 am, then took the airport shuttle bus into the city.  I haven't yet gone to my new hostel. The area I got off the bus is a very commercial district and I knew the area I was going was more residential. So, I took some time to do tasking first.

The usuals get money, recharge data on my phone for Peru.

My reading glasses must have fallen off my shirt while deplaning, so I needed to pick up another pair.

I am now at a sidewalk cafe. I ordered a pizza and will wash that down with beer. It is slightly drizzly and cool today, but not uncomfortably so. With my hoodie on, I'm good.

My pizza arrived and I have to tell you it is definitely on my best pizzas list. I didn't take a picture, you just have to believe me. I planned to eat half and save half for the evenings. That didn't happen. I couldn't stop myself, I ate the whole thing. On top of that, it was a happy hour special which came with 2 beers.

After this gastronomical binge, it was time to head to the hostel. Uber to the rescue. How many times have I told you I love Uber. Well here it is again. I love Uber. The Uber picked me up about 1/4 block, from the restaurant and dropped at the front of the hostel.

I am now staying at the Ancestral Hostel Barraco. This is my new favorite Hostel, except that I will be sleeping in a shared roomon a lower bunk, it feels like a hotel. No uneven floors or broken tiles, no ceramic tile walls patched with concrete, no makeshift repairs. It is clean, well staffed, nicelu decorated, plenty of comfortable common space and a rooftop terrace with a view to the ocean.

I skipped the complete tour of the facility, opting instead to head straight to my bunk for my daily siesta. I was pretty tired having gotten up so early for my flight. (The beers were also a contributing factor!

Later in the evening, I was tempted into enjoying the Happy Hour Special on the rooftop terrace. 2 pisco sour for 30 soles. I really didn't need these, but they were delicious all the same.

I hit the sack early.
