Paracus, Lima - day 1
I was tired and went to bed too early last night resulting in me waking up too early this morning.

It's all good though, I have to meet at the tour desk across the street at 7:50 to be escorted to the boat to go out to Isla Ballestas this morning. It will be a beautiful day out on the water with a high of around 85 degrees F
This hostel has 3 levels and an open roof terrace. If I knew about the roof terrace last night, I could have gone up there to watch the sunset. The terrace is where you will find me the next 2 nights at sunset.
I went up to the terrace this morning a little late for sunrise, but the sunrise may also be visible from the roof top terrace.
So happy that my room is on the 1st level instead of the 2nd or 3rd. Save my knees and legs for other walking.
A few hours later.
I went on the boat tour, it was about a 30 minute ride out to the islands. Then about an hour boating slowly around different parts of the island.
On the way out to the islands we past by the hillside where the Palabr geoglyph is. This is different than the Nazco Lines that are ancient. This geoglyph is only a few hundred years old. There are stories about its origin, but nothing definitive.
The guide pointed out and identified lots of different birds including boobies, pelicans and many more.
We also saw a few sea lions. The island is covered in guano from all the birds.
There is a harvesting piers on the different islands that they use for harvesting the guano every 5 years. The guano is used in agriculture as fertilizer.
