Medellin to Honda

I will be taking a bus from Medellin to Honda today. My bus doesn't leave until 12 so I will have a leisure morning before catching my final ride on the Metro train to the north bus terminal.

The bus ride will be about 6 hours through mountainous, rich green terrain.

The bus trip ended up being about 7 hours. The first 3/4 of the trip was the most beautiful. Winding through the mountains. Thick dark green foliage and trees created a beautiful green carpet covering the mountains.

I tried to take some pictures from the bus, but that didn't work well because of the deep tinting on the windows. The mountain rock filled rivers where the hardest to try to capture. By the time I saw one coming, and before I could get out m6y phone to take a picture, they were gone.
I have downloaded a few pictures from the internet for you to get an idea of the beauty of the terrain. I typically dose off on bus rides, but not on this trip, the scenery was too interesting, I didn't want  to miss any of it.

The bus arrived in Honda after dark. Not my favorite arrival time, but because Honda is so small, I wasn't nervous about safety.

I caught a taxi outside the station to take me to the hostel. He was confused about the location because it was not in the tourist area.

We wound through the back streets arriving at about where hostel should be. There was no sign or anything for a hostel. Just as I was getting out of the taxi, a lady came up and called my name. Yes! This was Rossy the owner of the property.

She took me to the place, less than a half a block away.

It was not so much a hostel as a private bedroom in her house. As I mentioned it was after dark, but still pretty warm. Even Rossy was having to wipe sweat from her face and brow. She showed me my room, kitchen and bath, then she was off.

Luckily there was a fan in the room, otherwise I wouldn't be able to sleep. After taking a cool refreshing shower, that is exactly what I did.
