Nha Trang, Vietnam - Day 2

 Good Morning!

It was nice again to make tea and coffee in my room. What tea and coffee? Yes, this is my typical start of day routine. 2 cups of rooibos tea while starting to read news, play some brain wake up games on my tablet. Then follow by brewing coffee and enjoying a cup or two of that.

I am enjoying being able to make hot water in my room. That hasn't happened until my stay in Quy Nhon and now in Nha Trang. I finally got a screen to be able to make tea in Quy Nhon. I'm carrying a Thai, single cup coffee express style brewer with me, but having a french press here in Nha Trang to make coffee is more to my taste.

I rented a Vinfast electric scooter yesterday and kept it overnight.

My plan for today is go to Dam Market to buy a couple more t-shirts and a couple more underwear to reduce the frequency of going to the laundry.

I headed out about 9 to go to Dam Market. For you people in Oaxaca, think Abastos market. Lots of vendors selling everything including clothing. I guess it was always my plan while packing for this trip that I could supplement my clothing here in Vietnam without spending too much money.

I found vendors selling light weight, dri-fit style t's and shorts and bought a couple of each. I also bought a pair of light weight linen trousers. (I didn't try them on, hoping they fit). They fit! Yeehaa! With a little help from AI to enhance the background, here I am modeling a couple of my purchases. I think I did OK. I look pretty fit and trim from the front, not so much from the side.

I

Before leaving the market area, I stopped to get my daily fix of pha for a midday meal.

After the market, I headed to the e-scooter rental place to drop off the scooter. Booked a Grab bike back to my place. I got confused, the Grab driver got confuse and ended up dropping me off with still a 20 minute walk to get back. The good thing was there was a BIVD ATM close by for me to replenish my cash.

It is hot today. I checked my Accuweater app. At noon it said it was 90° F but said it felt like 105° F and even in the shade like 95° F. I stopped a couple times on along the way to sit including once to get a cà phê sữa đá, iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk. The shop where I got my coffee also had a motor bike auto wash. This is a first for me. I wonder if they provide rain gear for you to wear during the wash. LOL.

I was also happy to see this tree lined street on my way back.

I needed to get my steps in, but I would have preferred that happened more in the earlier morning or later evening. I still have to go out later this evening to walk more. I will do that when I go to get my evening meal.

Yesterday when doing my laundry, every other person that came in to do laundry, like 3 other groups or individuals where all Russian. The 3 countries that in recent history have invaded or occupied Vietnam in recent history are the US, French and Russians. It seems a bit wierd that Vietnam is now a popular travel destination for each of these countries.

I saw this an other signs on my walk home, in Russian.

At the laundry you could also select a language to display instructions, one of them being Russian.
